Kid Size Dead Fish Hat Pattern
I adapted a pattern from the dead fish hat pattern (link below) to fit a smaller kid. Maybe 6 months to 5 years?
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter08/PATTfishy.php
I'm no pattern writer but I've had multiple requests. I have no permission to adapt this pattern.
It's rough - just take it for what it is. Trust your knitting instincts! Good luck.
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn
Size 7 circular and double pointed needles
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
Pattern from link above
Read the whole pattern from the link above.
Change colors whenever you want! I color out a pattern on graph paper and then follow that.
With lip color cast on 70 stitches. Place marker.
Knit 6 rows
Make mouth:
1: (RS) K21, wrap and turn (WT)
2: (WS) P7, WT
3: (RS) K8, WT
4: (WS) P9, WT
5: (RS) K10, WT
6: (WS) P11, WT
7: (RS) K12, WT
8: (WS) P14, WT
9: (RS) K16, WT
10: (WS) P18, WT
11: (RS) K20, WT
12: (WS) P22, WT
13: (RS) K50, WT
Repeat rows 2-12
Work knitting around, changing colors as desired
After 20 rows (From mouth): K6, K2tog - repeat around
After 12 more rows: K5, K2tog - repeat around
After 8 more rows: K4, K2tog - repeat around
After 6 more rows: K3, K2tog - repeat around
After 3 more rows: K2tog around
Work tail in pattern above (link)
Work fins, I used 10 stitches for the dorsal fin, and 8 for pectoral fins.
Work eyes as desired.
I used lion brand heartland yarn - this is still an experimental pattern! Leave a comment with a picture of your creation!

Knit: Beanie with Tab and Button
Did a pattern test for knit in the womb designs on Facebook and love it! A classic beanie and then a tab with a button which is so easy and adds a level of class and charm. My husband made the button in the garage too!
Knit: Dead Fish Hat
I got a request in my shop to knit up one of these: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter08/PATTfishy.php and this is how it turned out!!

Knit: Deer Hat
I saw this blog post: http://400squareftliving.blogspot.ca/2013/10/knitting-woodland-stagdeer-baby-hat.html
And she uses chunky yarn so I adapted the pattern to worsted weight and am quite happy with the results!!
